1. Can you briefly introduce yourself and the style of music you create?
Cyberus – I am the cybernetic dude that goes by CYBERUS! I am from Chicago, IL and I currently produce heavy bass/riddim.
——–
2. How long have you been djing/ producing for? What was your motivation behind the Cyberus project and brand?
Cyberus – I have been djing since early 2019 and I have been producing since 2018. However, it wasn’t until the beginning of 2023 when | finally decided to start taking my music more seriously. I think the motivation behind the CYBERUS project was to create music that I really love and am very passionate about, while also trying to connect people with my music.

3. What are some of your inspirations in music?
Cyberus – I have a lot of names that I can pull out in that have inspired me in music, but for production inspiration’s l would have to say MUERTE for his blending of orchestral sounds into riddim, to SISTO with his crunchy basslines, JIQUI for his intense flow structure, and even BLAIZE for guiding me to mix/master professionally.

4. What are some of your favorite works and remixes you have done?
Cyberus – By far one of my favorite projects that I have worked on was my original track “KNEES SHAKIN”, and as for remixes would be BLAIZE & HAMRO- CHECK DIS, where this project guided me to finding my “sound”. I have a few tracks and remixes that l worked on that were incredibly fun to work on coming out very soon!

5. What advice would you give to independent artists who are building out there?
Garth – Keep going, nothing in life that is fruitful or rewarding ever came quickly or easily. If you are original, work hard, and maintain consistency, then there will be a day where you see results or rewards. Be kind, be smart, and be professional – the rest will fall into place in the order and time they are meant to be.
In our fourth year of Monsoon Season, we can empirically say that consistency (and content) is what contributed to our notoriety and relevance in today’s EDM markets.———
6. Anything else you would like to shoutout and plug in?
Garth – Always! Firstly, my mom is a huge reason I keep going. She showed me the world of blogging and what sort of benefit and creative outlet it can be for music-loving folks like myself.
Secondly, our writers Tate and Brandon, they both have never veered course and always continue to show up and share the same passions I do, and love this company and brand as much as I do. Next, our graphic artist Alec; this madman never cease to amaze me with that gorgeous and thought-provoking artwork he generates for our label sector and special projects.Keep your eyes peeled for Hypercane, our sophomore compilation album featuring 10 electronic artists from around the world which drops in June of 2024. We have lots of electrically-charged content coming your way all spring, summer, fall, and winter. Get stoked to get soaked with us here at Monsoon Season!
