1. Can you briefly introduce yourself and the style of music you create?
DHNO – Hey hey! My name is DHNO and I’m based in Dallas, Texas. I make riddim, heavy dub and tearout!
2. What are your top 3 production/songwriting tips for up-and-coming artists?
DHNO – One of them is super cliche but just keep writing and let the juices flow. Even if it’s just for 30 minutes and it’s the worst thing you’ve ever heard, just make something. Second one I’ve found useful is when you feel like you’re stuck on a portion of the song, don’t stop, just keep going at it. I’ve found that if you keep going you’ll eventually land on something you’re really happy with. Third one kind of ties into the last one. Audiate your flow. Sound out how you want the song to go and sing it out. Almost always, if you sing it out then the flow will come and it’ll help you create and that tends to help the roadblocks when you’re making a tune too.
3. Can we be expecting some new DHNO music 2025?
DHNO – PLENTY! Been working on some stuff here recently and I’m super excited to show you guys. Been trying to upgrade my production and have a bunch of edits I’ll be releasing throughout the year as freebies 🙂
4. What advice would you give to aspiring artists following in your footsteps?
DHNO – Write, create, do stuff with your brand! Really hone in what your brand is going to be. Don’t be scared of being on camera and just be kind to everyone you meet. Always connect with people and network because that, coupled with your content (especially if you have your own originals!) can get you a very long way.
